In the Wangan Midnight manga and anime, the Blackbird is a black 1989 Porsche 911 Turbo driven by Tatsuya Shima — a car so powerful and so cursed that it has destroyed every driver foolish enough to push it too far. The Blackbird became one of Japanese automotive fiction's most compelling characters, embodying the seductive danger of pushing air-cooled machinery beyond its limits on Tokyo's expressways.
